In 2004, the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA), in accordance with the Illinois Affordable Housing Planning and Appeals Act, notified the Village that it was a non-exempt community per the Act and must prepare an affordable housing plan. In accordance with this law, the Village adopted the Kenilworth Affordable Housing Plan in March, 2005, and subsequently updated it In August, 2020.
The Village is due to update the Plan in 2025. Since there are no substantive changes to the Plan at this time, the current Plan is being presented with input from staff. This Plan is largely the same as the 2020 Plan.
The recommended updates for the 2025 plan are presented in a track-changes format. The primary changes include:
- Updated financial information and data
- Information regarding the Green Bay Road Corridor Review Committee
- Updated real estate data
