[ARCHIVED] Annual Parkway Tree Trimming - Begin Today

TreeTrimming

The Village's annual parkway tree trimming will begin today, Friday, February 2nd and be completed by Wednesday, February 7th. The trimming will be performed by Advanced Tree Company in accordance with the American National Standard Institute (ANSI) guidelines.

Work will include the removal of dead or dying limbs to create appropriate clearances for safe vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Additionally, unhealthy branch growth will be removed (e.g. crossing branches). The pruning may seem excessive with no leaves are on the tree; however, crews ensure that pruning is done to improve the overall health of the tree.

The Village prunes parkway trees on a 5-year cycle as recommended by our arborist. For the upcoming cycle, crews will be evaluating trees on the following streets:

  • Sheridan
  • Abingdon
  • Woodstock
  • Cumberland
  • Cummings
  • Roger
  • Kent
  • Richmond

To allow for a safe and efficient tree pruning process, the Village is requesting residents to avoid parking on those streets from February 2nd to February 7th
